Two Award Winning Shops

Established in 1932, Kellys The Barber Rooms is our flagship shop located on Castle Street, Castlebar. Spread over two floors we have a total of five barber stations and five barbers working here in this premises. Our Owner, John works in this shop.

Recently renovated in 2024 ‘The Barber Rooms offers a relaxing and stylish space where you can sit back and relax with a coffee in hand & enjoy your haircut!

Over the years it has collected many International barbering awards and recognitions. In this shop we provide Appointments and cater for Walk-In service- when possible . We look forward to welcoming you to Kelly’s ‘The Barber Rooms’.

With the expansions of the business we started entering barbering competitions, the staff were keen and it was something fun and creative to do so we decided to give it a go! We have had great success over the years in various competitions.

Starting it off with Irish hairdressing championships in 2005 and winning the Men’s freestyle category.

The luck continued and again we went on to win the 2006 & 2007 Men’s freestyle category at the Irish hairdressing championship, with also some 2nd place finishes.

Later our stylist Inga went on to the World hairdressing & Barbering championships to represent Ireland.

More recently we were the winners of the Irish hair awards, winning in the category Barbers of Year for 2018 & 2019. Runner up in 2021,2022. Best in Connaught for ’23 & 24 and most recently runner up at the prestigious Mayo Business Awards in the category ” Best in Customer Experience”.
